Sneaker News 2022: Most Disappointing Year Ever? | IDEAL SPORT

We're almost halfway to 2022, so it's time to take stock, right? As 2021 kicked off, we were all excited about the new hype. Even Complex sparked discussions with their list of "long-awaited sneakers". The prospect of new running shoes is always enough to get you started! But has 2021 lived up to our expectations? Well, we don't think so. So here are all the sneaker news that kept us on our toes and disappointed us for some reason!

The Trophy Room Jordan 1 hits the sneaker headlines!

If you haven't heard of the Trophy Room and Jordan 1 controversy, then you're living in a cave. Firstly, this collaboration was one of the most anticipated releases of 2021. A pair of MJ-signed Air travis scott jordan is a serious collector's item. It was also done in the colors of Chicago, so it tested all of our emotional boundaries. But our dreams of adding this pair to our sneaker collection were thwarted due to the backdoor scandal! This naturally led to the ire of sneakerheads, and sneakerheads don't forget easily.

The pair "fell" in February 2021, if that counts as a fall (we're looking at you, Nike). Today, they sell for a whopping $3,500. And maybe we can blame this value on the backdoor!


Yeezy 450 and 3 year shelf life

It's 2018 and all the sneaker news pages are talking about the same rumor. The alien-looking sneakers that Kanye just flexed! The Twitter photo shoot gave us our first glimpses, as well as many other sweet moments. Later, we looked at the sketches and realized that the crosses were being finalized. Kanye? He mentioned Yeezy 2019 but nothing happened. And now, 3 years after the 2018 teaser, we finally announced the release date. However, the release seemed to have lost its appeal. I mean, playing hard for 3 years is too much, isn't it?

Long story short, Yeezy 450 (or 451 then) dropped in March 2021! Although it retailed for $200, this pair still cost a penny. It is currently on sale for $500. We wouldn't call this release disappointing, but rather anticlimactic.

The Supreme SB Dunks are the main sneaker news!

So, FW20 Supreme is over, and with it, the leak of information about the upcoming Supreme Dunks. And they look exactly like the ones in 2003. To be honest, it was enough to drive all the fans crazy! However, Travis scott jordan Supreme seems to have lost some of its hype. We haven't seen the big releases that the brand is used to. However, Dunks did not disappoint, although they could have come out with a cooler color scheme.

The release was a success, we will not deny it. And if they were miraculously captured, then you can turn them over for at least $ 1,000! However, the other Nike x Supreme collaborations of the last two seasons aren't all that exciting. We look forward to more sexy releases in the future.
