Where does the definition T-Shirt come from

The  T-shirt  is a short-sleeved, round-necked t-shirt with a straight bust that gives it the classic " T " shape. The short-sleeved shirts worn by young  palm angels Americans and Europeans between the fifties and sixties were strictly white, but by the end of the seventies the trend of wearing colored t-shirts took hold.

It was in the eighties that the T-shirt became a creative piece of clothing and a communicative vehicle through friezes and ornamental writings: the message transmitted through the  T-shirts  took on the most disparate shapes and meanings.

The T-shirt is a garment made of cloth without buttons and without collars, it can be made with long sleeves or short sleeves in natural fabric such as cotton.

Although it is possible to find similar garments with sleeves of varying lengths, already in the Etruscan and Renaissance periods, examples of garments similar to a T-shirt spread only starting from the 18th century, as underwear, and from the 19th century as garments for work, given the comfort and the lack of a collar.

Nineteenth-century sailors wore a variant very close to the contemporary model, characterized by the typical horizontal stripes.

In the 1940s, during World War II, the US military adopted the crew neck palm angels "T shirt" as part of the uniform for their men. The use of the T shirt therefore spread widely in Europe during the Second World War.

A garment was consolidated in the 1950s, except for underwear or work use, when American fashion spread around the world through cinema. Famous actors such as James Dean or Marlon Brando wore the typical white short-sleeved T-shirt on the big screen over a pair of jeans: from that moment the t-shirt entered definitively into contemporary fashion.
