Meet the Nike KD 14!

Following the successful release of the Nike KD 13, Nike released the Nike KD 14, Kevin Durant's 14th signature pair in his main shoe line. Will this updated pair of KDs replace their predecessors in terms of performance?

The Brooklyn Nets will make the playoffs this year. Durant, along with fellow superstars Kyrie Irving and James Harden, will lead them. Durant has struggled with a series of injuries over the last couple of seasons, but the two-time champion's scoring remains unrealistic.

The Nets are looking to come out on top in the East this season. Well, we'll just have to wait and see if KD takes home their third championship by wearing their newest signature pair, the Nike KD 14.

Materials.

Compared to the Nike KD 13 with its soft and breathable nylon-like upper, the Nike KD 14 is essentially a huge leap in quality. The pair looked more premium with the use of a thick mesh upper. In fact, it should be one of the elements of any branded shoe.

Imagine that a shoe named after a famous sports icon is made from cheap and dull materials. Well, that's not very appropriate given the millions of dollars in revenue these icons bring to the shoe company.

Nike makes sure the Nike KD 14 delivers the ultimate in comfort. Over the past few years, the Nike Zoom Strobel has established itself as one of the best cushioning systems out there. Just like the Nike KD 12 and Nike KD 13, the latest KD signature pair is packed with the same cushioning system.

When it was first implemented on the Nike KD 12, it made a good impression. Nike decided to keep this setup in the build of the Nike KD 13 and the KD 14 thereafter.

As it should be, the full-length Nike Zoom Strobel embodied in the Nike KD 14 is absolute comfort. The pair is very agile and responsive, which reduces stress when landing.

Along with the Zoom Strobel, the pair also features a cushioned insole that adapts to users' feet. This is comparable to what is used in the Nike Kobe 6 Protro.

Another big takeaway is the Cushlon foam midsole that enhances the comfort of the pair. Given the midsole's reputation, it delivers uncompromising compression, making the pair more responsive.

Together with the Cushlon, the pair has an additional feature in the form of a stabilizer plate. As the name suggests, it should provide a stronger and more stable footing.

Speaking of the heel-to-ground aspect, the Nike KD 14 has a pretty decent court feel without sacrificing cushion. It is easier to move and work with your feet.

Also, the transition from heel to toe is good with the flex at the heels. Despite the flat forefoot, there is plenty of room to flex so running won't be a problem.

As far as support is concerned, the amount of padding is sufficient to provide support and stability to the pair. The heel has enough foam to keep the foot stable, as well as a tongue that enhances the lockdown of the pair.

Let's save the most intriguing feature for last. It's very hard not to notice the return of the strap. Return, you read that right. If you don't actually follow the releases of the Nike KD series, it's no surprise that you don't know that a pair of KD pairs had a strap back in the distant past. The Nike KD 14 is almost true to size with some density in the forefoot. Choose the right size if you like good tightness and insulation in a shoe.

Summarizing.
