A Complete Guide to This Weekend’s Sneaker Releases

Looking to add to your 2022 sneaker rotation? Brands across the globe are dropping off some great collaborations this week.

Size created three Pumas inspired by one of the greatest films of all time, The Godfather, Notre drew inspiration from the local cafe for its new Vans project, End looks to the desert to design its Salmon collab, and JJJJound brings its minimalist aesthetic to the iconic Bapesta. Elsewhere, there is a new MB.01 perfect for any Hornets fans, Air Jordan 6 Low celebrating the Lunar New Year, and a the latest “Flax” Air Force 1 from Nike. 

What You Need to Know: Size has collaborated with jordan 4 university blue Puma to create three colorways of the Palermo inspired by The Godfather. Each is meant to nod to specific scenes in the film: the wedding, bar, and restaurant. The color palettes are meant to correspond to each setting. Under each Palermo tab on the side panels are hidden quotes from the film as well. Only 500 pairs of each colorway have been produced. 



Notre x Vans Vault OG Style 36 LX 'Best Served Together'

What You Need to Know: Notre rekindles its partnership with Vans for three cafe-inspired colorways of the OG Style 36 LX. Brown, green, and blue-based pairs are meant to represent espresso, matcha, and tea, respectively. Each pair is completed with Notre’s signature handshake motif replacing the traditional jazz stripe on the lateral side panel.

Air Jordan 6 Low ‘Lunar New Year’

What You Need to Know: Jordan Brand is celebrating the Year of the Tiger with a new colorway of the Air Jordan 6 Low. The simplistic pair sports a white cracked leather upper inspired by porcelain vases. Gold detailing can be seen on the midsole, heel tab, and Jumpman branding. 

Nike Air Force 1 Mid ‘Flax’

What You Need to Know: Nike revisits the popular “Flax” colorway to outfit this upcoming Air Force 1 Mid just. The construction boot-esque look features a wheat nubuck upper, gum sole, hiker laces, and metal detailing. 

End x Salamon XT-Wings 2 ‘Sirocco’

What You Need to Know: The latest collab from End jordan 4 university blue Clothing is its first with Salmon, a new colorway of the XT-Wings 2. The European retailer has crafted the “Sirocco” colorway, which is inspired by the Sahara desert. The runner is covered in various earth tones meant to mimic sand dunes. 

What You Need to Know: JJJJound’s latest collaboration is with Bape. Along with T-shirt and hoodies, the capsule features a clean colorway of the Bapesta. A white leather upper is accented by grey detailing on the star logo, heel tab, and midsole. Round laces and metal topmost eyelets complete the minimal design.
